Family Support Parents and Children

Family Support plays an important role in partnering with underserved populations in Allegheny County. The majority of the families enrolled in Family Support Centers live at or below the poverty level.

During the enrollment period from July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012, close to 6000 children and caregivers were enrolled in Family Support. Some information about these families:

Most Family Support children are age zero to five.

The highest level of education that 34% of parents have completed is high school; more than one out of five parents do not have a high school diploma.
