Our Impact

Family Support Centers nurture children, strengthen families, and build communities…

Family Support makes a difference in Allegheny County. We help parents provide a safe, nurturing environment for their children by working with families to build on their strengths. Our Centers use Parents as Teachers, a national, evidence-based home visiting service for families with one or more children under age six. Using the home visiting service, our staff are certified to teach parents about child development and age-appropriate parenting techniques, and can provide families with both social supports and links to a network of resources and refferals. Family Support services help build families’ protective factors, which are proven to help prevent child abuse and neglect.
